Drivers should be courteous and friendly and be able to deliver excellent customer service. Drivers must provide a current K4 DMV printout when applying (Valid 30 days from date on application), must pass a pre-employment drug screen test, Breath Alcohol Test (BAT), pass DOJ/FBI background check, pass physical exam as well as pass DL51 (DOT Medical). Applicants must have flexible work hours, with weekend availability.
The Key Tasks & Responsibilities for this position includes:
Drivers are responsible for pre-inspection check on all vehicles driving, assisting clients with "through the door" service, making sure all wheelchairs or any other devices are tied down properly; drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner; must be able to communicate with clients, dispatchers and supervisors regarding concerns and/or other issues.
Education & Training
High School Diploma / GED equivalent is preferred but not required. Valid driver's license, Class C or Commercial driver's license, Class A or B with passenger endorsement. Valid CPR/First-Aid card is preferred but not required.
Knowledge & Experience
Experienced driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles are a plus. Must have a driver's license for at least Five (5) years. No more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at-fault accident in the last three (3) years. Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and be able to navigate areas using GPS.
Ideal candidates should be self-motivated and responsible, have good communication skills, positive attitude and willing to go the extra mile.
Drivers must be able to work in a fast-pace environment. Must be able to assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle, as well as assist in transferring clients in and out of wheelchairs. Be able to safely transport clients in wheelchairs, scooters and tie-down wheelchairs and any other equipment clients may bring on-board vehicle.
Driver must be able to pass physical which includes lifting 100 lbs, push and pull up to 200 lbs, bend from the waist, pivot from the waist, be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing. Driver must be able to pass the DL51 (DOT Medical).
